Lauded as playing with "great warmth and personality" by The Philadelphia Inquirer, Jeremy Kesselman is the principal oboist of the Symphony in C (formerly Haddonfield Symphony) and the second oboist of the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia. Mr. Kesselman teaches oboe at the University of Pennsylvania.
In addition to his performances with the Symphony in C and the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, Mr. Kesselman regularly performs with the Academy of Vocal Arts Opera Orchestra, the Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra, the Pennsylvania Ballet, the Philly Pops and the Opera Company of Philadelphia. He has also been a participant in Colorado Music Festival, Pacific Music Festival and National Orchestral Institute.
Mr. Kesselman studied at the Curtis Institue of Music with Richard Woodhams. He received his Bachelors of Music degree from Temple University where he was a student of Jonathan Blumenfeld.
Born in New York but raised in Southern California, Mr. Kesselman started his musical training at a young age on piano, switching later to the oboe, which has become his passion and obsession. When not making reeds, he enjoys hiking, cycling and being outdoors.
